Stephanie Powell Creative

Hey, friend.

I'm Stephanie.

I am a lion chaser, a creative, a designer, a total nerd, an educator, a dancer, an Aggie (whoop), a photographer, a fierce animal advocate, and a forever champion of the oxford comma. Oh, and Jesus is my homeboy.

I'm also a pretty intense logophile and a walking juxtaposition, and every aspect of my life (especially the creative design part) seems to (loudly) echo those two things. My goal is to live life as authentically as humanly possible and surround myself with those souls who seek to do the same. And also, to enjoy as many side-splitting, crying, not-making-sound-anymore laughs as I can. Those are the best.

That crazy guy in the pic is my other, and often better, half, Andrew. Home is wherever he and our 7 furkids are (6 dogs, 1 cat, and I only wish that number were higher and more diversified). And yes, we're like that all the time. It's pretty great.

I've got tons more to share, so keep on scrollin'. Let's get to know each other. No, like really get to know each other. There's no better way to find out whether or not we'll be a perfect fit, so let's roll!

how's it hangin' ?

What had happened was. . .

In July 2018, I chose to obey a calling and take the biggest leap of faith in my life thus far: I resigned from 13 years in public education to start my own business in creative and graphic design. I taught dance, by the way. Talk about your wholly unexpected plot twist.

So here I was, an Aggie with a BBA in Marketing, an M. Ed. in Educational Philosophy and Policy Studies, and on the final, checkered lap of obtaining my doctorate in education...starting my own business. In something I'd never really "done" before. But as luck (and grace) would have it, I found I had a knack for the design part, and all my years as a creative in other areas of the arts (dance, photography, writing, etc) lent themselves quite well to my new passion and creative outlet. I was also fortunate to have all the support I could ever ask for coupled with some amazing mentors (looking at you Stevie and Keisha), whom I still bug frequently.

I'd love to tell you I had my "why" all figured out from the beginning, but that would totally be a lie. Thankfully, over the last year, it has emerged clearly, intensely, and unmistakable. Along with my love for animals and first-borne desire to open my own animal sanctuary (which is 100% happening), I also have this undeniable calling on my heart that everyone deserves to be loved exactly as they were created, not as who we wish or think they should have been. Each one of us was so carefully and intentionally crafted, and we need what only you can offer. The world does not benefit from you hiding your badassery. So stop it, and let's, instead, shout it from the rooftops.

Through my creative design business, I am able to listen to everything my clients say, along with everything they don't, and help them identify, embrace, and celebrate their own unique voice. And that is why I do what I do.  This is why Stephanie Powell Creative exists. That, and to live out the mantra on the top of each of these pages: Do good. Be dope. Stay weird. Live authentic.

"I would rather work with a person than a mass producing company like Minted… The pricing was great and the knowledge and how fast the replies were ultimately made the choice very easy. I was beyond happy with every step of the process and the end result was beyond what I even thought!"

"It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Stephanie over the last year on several creative projects. Not only does she take the time to truly find the voice of your brand, but she also helps you to see things from the perspective of your audience. Her skill as an artist is exceptional and only out done by her skill as a strategist. I never knew there was so much to color theory, shaping, and imagery until I met Stephanie. She is professional, kind, funny (and punny), hard-working, and dedicated to her craft. I highly recommend Stephanie as a re-branding strategist to all of my coaching clients, who are looking to elevate their brand and extend their reach in the world. She's the best!"

"I had been looking for a true artist to bring my vision to life. Upon meeting Stephanie, and briefly explaining my needs, I felt confident that she was the right person."

“My mom and I trusted our vision to Stephanie because of her ability to create beautiful projects… We wanted someone special to be a part of our special design. She is also so creative and has a beautiful outlook on life, she is a joy to work with. Stephanie rocked seeing our vision, completing it, and it was even better than I imagined. She made sure our special elements were incorporated and then she added her creativity and skill."

"Highly recommend Stephanie. Starting a new business venture and needing a branding (logo, website, slide deck, etc.), I knew I had to find someone who would listen to me versus give me what they thought I needed. Stephanie does a GREAT job learning about her clients goals and personalities before she even begins working on a design. I am so pleased with my logo and all its variations! Still actively working with Stephanie on my website, and love the framework she has put together so far."

We might be a good fit if. . .

- You have a story you want - no need - to tell.

- You're all about minimalist designs (if I could       hand draw you beautiful and complex
illustrations, I totally would, buuuuut I can't).       Minimalist designs are my jam.

- You are ready for a creative to take your idea
   and run with it.

- You have a sincere passion and drive for what
   you do.

- You are a total nerd and can dig on all my
   animal puns and 90's slang.

So, you ready to take this relationship to a whole 'notha level?

Let's do this

But wait, there's more...

I know, I know. The mind reels that there could be more. I have affectionately deemed myself an eclectic, multifaceted multipotentialite (logophile, remember?). Which is really just a fancy way of saying I like doing tons of different things, many of which are often completely unrelated. Why pick one lane when I can have the whole road?
