I know what you’re thinking. “What is it with this chick and her names??” This one has an explanation too. Promise.
In the Harry Potter universe, Abraxans (ah-brax-ins) are “giant palomino horses with wings and a taste for whiskey” (courtesy of Pottermore). Now, when J.K. Rowling says giant, she means it. Like, the size of an elephant. They are also said to be extremely strong and require forceful handling. Extremely strong, require forceful handing, and a taste for whiskey…hmmm. I do believe that’s familiar to me. It’s also believed/speculated that the name for these amazing winged horses stemmed from Greek and Roman Mythology (I typically reference Greek). There were many immortal horses in mythology, usually from the line of the Anemoi, also known as the wind-gods who drew Zeus’s chariot. Abraxas was one of the four immortal horses of the sun god, Helios, or, in Roman mythology, the goddess of the dawn, Aurora.
I’ve always been more than mildly obsessed with horses, an obsession that has only increased with age. I’m also drawn to wings and feathers. So it’s not hard to see why I’d be immediately drawn to a winged horse, especially when it’s tied to Harry Potter and mythology. It’s also incredibly fun to say in conjunction with the word “relaxed.”
And as to the adjective in the name, that’s fairly self-explanatory. Everything I create is completely organic and intended to aid or encourage relaxation, if only for a minute. Be it mentally, physically, or totally. Taking a break and stealing a moment for ourselves isn’t just nice, it’s necessary. Remember: you can’t pour from an empty cup.
So, with all that, welcome to The Relaxed Abraxan! If you have any questions, shoot me an email! And if you want to order anything, click here! These goodies can also make great gifts and party/shower favors. Think: Christmas, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, bridesmaids boxes…you get the idea! And if you don’t, there are some pictures of previously done custom projects at the bottom of the page!
Stay relaxed, my friends.
I’m obsessed with candles. No, really. I come by it honestly though. I first tried my hand at making them a few years ago to give as Christmas presents. Because who doesn’t love a great smelling, long burning candle?? Turns out, I have a bit of a knack for it! Oh, and my favorite? The eucalyptus spearmint, hands down. Talk about your insta-calm.
All candles are made with soy/paraffin wax blend and scented with essential oils and fragrance oils. Burn time is approximately 3 hours per ounce.
Standard sizes/containers:
Therapeutic grade essential oils (for scent): allspice, bergamot, cedarwood, clary sage, eucalyptus, jasmine, lavendar, lemon, peppermint, rose, sandalwood, spearmint, sweet almond, vanilla
Fragrance oils: eucalyptus spearmint, lemon chiffon, apple cinnamon spice, Christmas traditions

This stuff is magic. It’s made with all kinds of natural and organic goodness, and it smells and feels amazing. My favorite uses are on my lips and for my cuticles. Honest confession: I’m ridiculously picky about my chapstick. I used the same brand for years, and if I ever left the house without it? Travesty. So I was probably more skeptical of mine than anyone else ever dreamt of being. Second honest confession: I only use this now. 100% true story. Oh, and they last forever. My current jar? Three months in and I’m almost halfway done.
Ingredients: 100% natural yellow beeswax, 100% pure unrefined shea butter, organic unrefined coconut oil, vitamin E oil, therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil
If you have a special request or would like a custom quote on gift sets or bulk orders, send me an email!
For those times when hot water alone just won’t cut it. Give yourself a little “calgon, take me away” moment. Pairs great with a soothing cup of tea or a glass of wine! My current favorite is the coconut lime. It’s pretty awesome.
Ingredients: epsom salts with shea butter, pure organic sodium bicarbonate (highest quality baking soda), coarse grain Mediterranean sea salt, Dead Sea salt, coconut oil, essential oils
Scents (all natural or therapeutic grade essential oils): coconut lime, tropical mango, lavender, eucalyptus spearmint (to calm and relax), lavender bergamot (to relax), lemon rosemary (to clear the mind), geranium lavender rose (to calm), orange clove cedarwood lemon (to uplift, strengthen, and reduce stress)
If you didn’t see the scent or vibe you were hoping for, or you need a custom quote on a gift set or bulk order, send me an email and I’ll let you know what I can do!
Exfoliate, moisturize, breathe deep. This stuff is great for all three, and it’s all natural/organic. And if you’re wanting a pop of color, the food coloring is FDA approved, gluten free, and Kosher. The mint sugar scrub is to die for, and the steam from the shower will not only serve to bring out those oils even more, but your bathroom will smell amazing! Use once or twice a week, and a little bit goes a long way!
Ingredients: white granulated sugar, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, essential oils (some scrubs use brown sugar as well)
Therapeutic grade essential oils: lavender, peppermint, sweet vanilla, eucalyptus, lemon mint
If you didn’t see the size or essential oil you were looking for, or you’d like a custom quote for gift sets or bulk orders, send me an email!

“I was recently lucky enough to be gifted some handmade treats from Quixotic Chimera in a Bridesmaid Gift Box. My first impression upon opening my gift box was the incredible fresh and relaxing scent. I immediately had the feeling of being at the spa, preparing for my massage (unfortunately that massage did not come with the box, LOL). I was drawn to the lip gloss first, which I must say is still my favorite item in the box. Not only do my lips hold the moisture from the gloss for what seems like hours past what my usual gloss would provide, the peppermint is so refreshing and cooling. As a dance instructor, my body looks forward to long, hot baths of Epsom Salts and Baking Soda…not very glamorous, but needed. The Bath Bomb and Salts were exactly what my body needed coming home from hours of teaching and what sometimes feels like a physical beating on my old muscles. Alongside my Sugar Scrub and Quixotic Chimera Scented Candle, I am able to turn my lights down and transport into my happy place of relaxation and bliss. I love this product, and I love everything it stands for!”

“I am amazed by the creativity and ideas that the designer comes up with. She has a fresh perspective and listens to you! The Relaxed Abraxan candles and lip balm are amazing products. The candle scents fill a room without overpowering it! And the personalized touches make it so much better. And the lip balm makes your lips feel soft and nourished. I will be ordering more!”

“I first received a candle as a party favor and it smelled delicious! The scent lasted even after I blew the candle out, and it smelled like the flowers were really there blooming in my kitchen. Since then I have had the pleasure of using the bath salts, body scrub, and lip balm and they are all soothing and yummy smelling. I love every little thing from this company and will be a repeat customer for life!”
